Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is the world’s leading youth achievement award and it has been one of the most popular extracurricular activities for Secondary students at Amnuay Silpa since 2014. The Award aims to recognise achievements and excellence in students around the world and equips them with a sense of adventure, a love for the outdoors, and community responsibility. Participants in the International Award develop themselves through a variety of activities: skill, physical recreation, community service, and a multi-day adventurous journey. Beginning in Year 10, students can begin their Bronze Award and then progress to Silver and Gold awards in future years. The International Award scheme is a non-competitive, self-guided journey that is highly valued by universities and employers worldwide.
Over the past few years, students at Amnuay Silpa have gone on a variety of adventurous journeys: Bronze Award participants have trekked throughout Khao Yai and Silver participants have camped on remote tropical islands while kayaking in the South of Thailand. We are excited to learn where in the world our expert Gold participants will choose for their adventurous journey, as it’s surely going to be a life-changing adventure!
