Phases & Departments
The Foundation Phase is structured as follows:
Key Stage 1 (Nursery to Year 2).
Nursery and Reception are known as the Early Years, following a UK ‘learning through play’ approach. Nursery to Year 1 receive Montessori skills from a specialist teacher.
- Nursery is Thai Kindergarten 1
- Reception is Thai Kindergarten 2
- Year 1 is Thai Kindergarten 3
- Year 2 is Thai Prathom 1
In Foundation, the children participate in swimming, art, dance and music lessons, provided by specialist teachers.
The Primary Phase is structured as follows:
Key Stage 2 (Year 3 to Year 6).
In Years 5 and Year 6 children will receive Thai Mathematics, Language, Social Studies and Science from specialist teachers.
- Year 3 is Thai Prathom 2
- Year 4 is Thai Prathom 3
- Year 5 is Thai Prathom 4
- Year 6 is Thai Prathom 5
In Primary, the children participate in swimming, art, Thai craft, dance, D&T, symphonic and music lessons, provided by specialist teachers.
Each Year Group in Foundation and Primary Phases, range from three to five classes, enabling the children to learn from a wide range of peers and experiences from staff.
The Secondary Phase is structured as follows:-
Key Stage 3 (Year 7-9). Year 7 in the Thai educational system is regarded as Primary. Therefore our students sit ONet examinations at the end of Year 7.
Key Stage 4 (Year 10+11). In the Thai system Year 10 is the end of Lower Secondary education so our Year 10 students sit ONet examinations.
Key Stage 5 (Year 12 + 13). Year 13 is the end of formal education in the Thai system and so our students sit the Year 13 ONet examinations.
Within the Secondary Phase are subject departments, led by a Head of Department. Our departments are as follows:
English, Thai Language; Science; Mathematics; Arts; Music; Social Studies; PE.
Each Year Group is also led by a Head of Year.
