University Guidance
Students at Amnuay Silpa School receive a highly personalised programme of support in terms of careers and university guidance. We recognise that our students are unique and have a world of opportunities to consider as high achieving bilingual young people.
Careers guidance is embedded into the Thai curriculum across the secondary phase and students are given weekly curriculum time, with a professional guidance counsellor, to explore their academic and personal profiles. Students explore the different routes into higher education and career options that are suited to their aspirations and goals.
To complement this further, every individual receives 1-to-1 guidance counselling to ensure that they are fully supported and informed about their options and the specific pathways they will take to achieve their goals and ambitions. Parents and guardians are always encouraged to request meetings and provided opportunities to be involved in the university process. For example, we run parent workshops on both applying to Thai universities and the pathways to studying abroad.
We have an increasing number of students studying abroad in top institutions. Students who are considering going overseas receive an extra guidance 1-to-1 meeting each week to support them through the university application process and provided with opportunities to meet relevant speakers and attend overseas study events throughout the year.
Speakers from both Thai and overseas educational institutions are invited where possible to deliver accurate and current higher education advice to students so they may consider all opportunities available to them. For example, this year we had Education USA, Chulalongkorn representatives and the British Council visit our school to inspire and educate our school community.
Students are encouraged to attend outside higher education events around Bangkok and given general guidance and advice within targeted assemblies and homeroom activities.
