FOBISIA

FOBISIA is a Federation of British International schools in Asia. In October 2022, ANS was awarded full membership into the organisation.

What does FORBISIA Membership mean for our community?

The schools in the Federation work together to provide a range of regional events and competitions for students as well as a variety of professional development opportunities for teachers. ANS students take part in the annual FOBISIA Games, as well as participating in FOBISIA Literacy and Maths Competitions, Music and Drama Festivals. These activities will provide ANS students with the opportunity to travel to different countries within Asia for rich cultural, sporting and academic experiences. ANS teaching staff regularly attend courses and workshops with their FOBISIA colleagues to keep up-to-date with best practice around the world.

Cambridge

At ANS students take IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education)  AS Levels (Advanced Subsidiary) and A Levels (Advanced) using the Cambridge International Examination awarding body. The organisation is backed by the teaching and research departments of the University of Cambridge and is the most leading provider of IGCSE, AS and A Levels.  Schools have to pass inspections and ensure strict examination protocol in order to offer these qualifications.

IELTS

IELTS (the International English Language Testing System) is the world's most popular English language test for work, study and migration.  In the academic test students are assessed in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

We administer the test itself on site in Year 12, this is done in partnership with the British council who provide the students with official test material and a speaking examination.

Our CIS Journey

In 2017 we started our journey by embarking on the Membership stage, moving successfully through to Accreditation status in 2021, where we were assessed by external CIS accreditors. Council of International Schools

Our International Accreditation gives parents and students the reassurance that our teaching and learning, policies and procedures and expectations are of an internationally recognised standard.

Embarking on an accreditation journey ensures that the school continues to achieve high standards of professional performance in international education and is committed to continuous improvement. In particular the award of accreditation shows that the school is devoted to its vision and mission for students.

University of Exeter for Thinking

‍In 2009 Amnuay Silpa School embarked on a Thinking Journey designed to transform the way in which learning took place at the school. We recognised that the world is constantly changing in terms of technology, communication and global opportunities and therefore understood that the education that we provide for our children must reflect this change.

In 2013 ANS was accredited by the Department of Cognitive Education at Exeter University as the First Thinking School in Asia.  In January 2017 ANS was accredited for a second time and awarded Advanced Status.  This truly confirmed that ANS is leading the way in thinking and continues to do so up to the present day; continuously self-reflective and enhancing the programmes taught to develop our future leaders, innovators and critical, reflective and creative thinkers.
