Welcome to the Foundation Phase at ANS! As Headteacher of the Foundation Phase, overseeing Nursery through to Year 2, I am delighted to introduce you to our community where we nurture curious learners through a Thinking School approach.
Using the Habits of Mind to drive our learning behaviours, we invite students to ask questions, use our senses to learn, celebrate persistence, and encourage imagination, creativity, and innovation. We believe in empowering each child to explore, discover, and grow in a supportive environment that promotes independence and critical thinking. Our commitment to holistic development ensures that every child thrives academically, socially and emotionally.
Whether you are new to ANS or continuing your journey with us, I welcome you to explore our site and discover how we inspire young minds to excel and grow, so they can become our future leaders, thinkers, and innovators.

Headteacher of the Foundation Phase
The Foundation Phase consists of a large intercultural team of dedicated and passionate staff who develop, coach and enhance the children through their global education and help celebrate their local traditions. We employ a committed, fully qualified team of staff who are determined to keep ANS the leading international standard bilingual school in Thailand. We have Class Teachers, Specialist Teachers, Intervention Teachers and also Learning Support Assistants.
In Nursery and Reception, teachers facilitate child-led learning to nurture curiosity, develop language, social and emotional skills.
In Year 1 and Year 2, we use Collaborative Teaching so the class has two qualified teachers in the room for core lessons (Language, Maths), so that students can receive the right challenge and support to really progress their learning.
Alignment of Thai and UK Curriculum Stages
Age appropriate challenges and experiences are given to the children throughout their learning journey, moving from child-led learning towards teacher-led learning, which takes many forms: project-based learning, group tasks, independent practice and interdependent problem-solving.
As the children’s journey continues, their holistic capabilities develop and widen. This journey enables the children the opportunity to find their own strengths and interests before moving on to the Primary Phase.
